TODAY IS THE 1st SUNDAY OF ADVENT:Tradition has it that a wreath with 4 candles be installed in the middle of the table. One candle should be lit on the 1st Sunday in Advent, then 2 on the second etc., When you arrive at the 4th Sunday, you can save on the heating bills!
Over Christmas, normally, the wreath should be burning 4 candles all the time! I light them up at meal times, or if I have visitors, but then - I'm a traditionalist!
