TWTWTW - in brief!

Image
The rumour mongers stayed, as usual - anonymous!     The Gulf of Mexico......stayed hellish thanks to BP That was the Week that was - but briefly! Poor Prince......... http://www.voici.fr/potins-people/les-potins-du-jour/photo-officielle-des-fiancailles-d-albert-de-monaco-et-charlene-363969#xtor=EPR-205 Now everyone will be waiting "expectingly", and counting carefully the number of weeks, days, months so they can work out the "goings-on" in the Palace and elsewhere! Hot weather finally arrived, together with black chocolaty "things"  But on the whole, things went on normally - normal Saturday Evening for some: "Having a lovely time - wish you were here.....?" But overall, many stayed home to watch the antics of some clowns: Some other clowns, some time ago. So - all in all, apart from the fact that Blogger, Google, Firefox, my MSI PC got on my nerves ALL week, I arrived at the following Saturday - and it's lunch t...

There are also Orange, fig and pomegranat trees - also with fruit! Never seen them before! But-it's weekend ......... SO ...... Go fishing.....!                               *********** Have a nice weekend *****************

Mia Casa - Sua Casa....!

THE JUDGE SAID SO.........! Every Englishman's home IS his Castle - or will become so again. But then, the law - as everyone knows - is an ass...! Now that more than half of the "castles" are up for sale (people can't afford to keep them) the Judge has decided to apply the law! Can it have anything to do with the fact that only the rich, influential, well-connected (all the Judge's bests friends) will be able to buy and keep a "castle" in the future...? On the other hand, if you are a villain, you won't need one in the future - you'll already have your accomodation - board & lodging included, sometimes even just as bed & breakfast - free to visit other people's "castles" during the day! Of course, when your home becomes your castle once again, don't forget the golden rule: Open it up to the General Public - for a moderate charge! "344, Arcacia Avenue - Visit an Englishman's home - his Castle....!"

Holiday pastimes-on screen..!

Image
People who come regularly on holiday to the area of mr le Marquis often spent lots of time photographing and filming these creatures. Now they will be pleased to know there is a film all about it in the Cinemas. They may be upset that nobody asked them for THEIR films, but it's all there! Incidentally, one of the reasons this species is not on the "in danger" list is probably because they are quite inedible...! I'm told they are like Swan - rather oily, quite tough and rather "musky" in taste. Wonder how they know...?

Danger! Man at work!

Once upon a time there was no need to search for "bloomers" or rudeness from Politicians. They were there, present, but unspoken and therefore unreported. One simply knew what a Churchill or a De Gaulle thought about the electors, privately, and contented oneself with the official statements, which said little. Not very democratic or open, one could say, but actually infinately better than the recent "changes" made by the French President Sarkozy. "Modernize" things, said this arrogant personnage, and proceeded to do so! Once divorced, he immediately divorced a second time, just 3 months or so in Office, and to thoroughly "modernize" the whole thing, got married to wife Nr 3 just 3 weeks after the second divorce! Decidedly he likes to do things in "three's"! Poor lady, I suppose she must love him, after all we ARE in France, where matters of the "coeur" are slightly different! (Mme Sarkozy III) Imagine a "commander-in...

Again?!

No - it's not an orange! It's a moon! OUR Moon! The moon that is going to put on a show early tomorrow morning- a rare event, again! I can never figure out WHY these displays are always planned so late or early-Jeeez, can't we arrange a PRIME viewing time? I always miss them, even after hours of patient planning, either I fall asleep, and have to watch the show on the TV News next day, or (normally) when I look up at the sky all I see is this: And I don't live in Manchester, England! It seems that this is the reason for it all. Don't ask me, please, what the sun is doing in the sky at that time of the morning (between 3am and 5,45am), but it must be, or you wouldn't get a shadow, and you wouldn't see a damned thing - just like me! Anyway - if you stay up, don't make the orangey red moon responsible for your similarly coloured eyes in the morning!

News of the week-according to mr le Marquis!

Whilst the world was carrying on in the usual way, I was sorting out some news items in my own inimitable way! (They shouldn't, maybe, be accepted as totally serious!) Here they are: Christmas just over, I didn't think there were still 1,000 Turkeys anywhere, but there are certainly at least 1000 less now! My friends, who were on a diet, contributed to this plight, with their half a Turkey! Poor creatures - almost makes me want to become a Vegetarian - ALMOST! My mate Chippie will be upset about this, no more chicken stews or pies! More amazingly was the news of the first win in 10 encounters of an English cricket team over Australia! I think it's all this "down-under" stuff, it makes them dizzy! In future, I would suggest sending the Scottish National team. The results wouldn't be worse, but the consummation of Scotch greater! We've started again - it's crazy season. German TV is full of Carnival programmes, and will be until after "mardi-gras...
