2nd Advent 2009
Tomorrow is the 2nd Sunday in Advent, if you're not religious, like me, it still doesn't stop you from trying to get a little Christmas feeling going!
The other day, going round the market here in the village,
I heard a granny -of Arab origine - inform one of her 3 grandchildren that they had no reason to look at all the Christmas things, "We're Mussulman - it's not our fest!" said she!
WRONG!
It's everybodie's fest, and - in any case - these kids go to the local school, full of Christmas events at this time of year. They can't avoid it!
Because I'm not religious doesn't stop me from eating fish on a Friday either - it's the best day of the week to buy it fresh - with a larger choice and lower prices!
Integration doesn't mean giving up your own things, it means embracing other people's and sharing your own with them too!
