It never ceases to amaze me this system I have installed for a few months. "UBUNTU" - free of charge and with everything 3 or 4 times over that Windows has. This is the current opening screen shot now.... ..simple - as you can see, the old ones were kinda more amusing - but distracting  and there are a couple of things that just never cease to amaze me. Yesterday was a perfect example. I knew that Windows had updates to be installed, that Mozilla had brought out the new Firefox and various other things, so I had to boot up my 2nd computer, running on WIN XP Pro SP3 (otherwise you won't get the updates) and sure enough, there they were - waiting for me! Now Windows updates always are a pain, and I recall a certain gentleman's statement when dealing with the subject of " Linux " in general - he sounded worried.. ..and has every right to. In any case, I started to install the one and only update available, and an hour later....it was still going! Of cour...

3.30am - still 29C, no sleep, just listening to the church bell ringing out half hours and hours! Decision time -out of bed and try to do something with that stupid Linux machine! The more I thought about it, the less likely was it that I would finally get some sleep! Allez oup - off we go! 4 hours later, I've done something, but I'm not too sure what! At least this time the thing hasn't blown up on me! Pre-installed they said! To me, as an absolute expert - now, it seems that 2 hours of installing things (things that I believed to be already present) must do something! Well - let's go off and see.... If you never hear from me again - Bye bye!

Certain things are sent to annoy us, and one of those things is Windows, but another is, without doubt "Linux"! I'm not sure, but I think a reasonable comparison would be the situation if God decided to change the rules, and said that as of now, everybody would be able to create their own weather, just as they wished! Well - that's not far from what Linux is all about! Supposedly free (but it's not) and supposedly "open source", it seems that just about every freak has jumped aboard and figured out something or other to annoy me with again-and it's a bitch! At least with Windows you can download and install what you want, may take some time, may take a few different try's, but you'll get there in the end! Linux....? No way! Well - it's beaten me, I'm having the thing partitioned - with Windows, so I've got SOMETHING that works, and MSI can go play with themselves! After all - it's nice to be able to think that at least ...

OK - you all know I'm playing around with the Linux System (my pre- installed version is probably the worst -  " SLED 10 SP3") and I can't understand a great deal! The photo is apparantly some Dutch people watching a fire specially for Easter - no idea why....! Back to linux - This is the "ubuntu" logo:    I'm trying out the programme "ZEMANTA" and I've already lost half of the article - great stuff......!
