"Ze...what....?" - "Zemanta....." and...old Port wine....

Image
Now, as some of you may already know, I just look all the time for things to amuse you all with, and quite some time ago, I found a thing called " ZEMANTA "..... You can look at this programme just by googlin' it, and downloading it if you wish, I thought I'd just let you know that I'm trying it again....from now on...! The problem was that it never worked on my old pc, possibly because of the technical capabilities, so I took it off. Basically it's a programme that finds "links" to subjects - all by itself...clever little thing! For example, I just talked about "pc" - so it went and got some images, like this one..... Image via Wikipedia remember thing's like that....? Zemanta does....! Sometimes useful - sometimes a pain...it will also find subjects that nobody wants to know about, like this: Image via Wikipedia Because.....to be honest....I don't want to know how to amuse an evening party.......I already know how to d...

Far too complicated anyway...!

Image by encouragement via Flickr I too had a site/group at " Geo-cities " (I never did understand either the name nor the system) - I found it very complicated, and Yahoo have always proved that money, money, money is the thing. I once compared "Yahoo" in particular "Yahoo Search" to a British Sunday paper - full of false facts, sexual nonsense, and anything else that sold easily! Well - seems to me that "Yahoo" is on the way out - "Bye-bye"! Next will be MSN who closed their "Groups" in February of this year. In fact MSN presented a programme called "Multiply" free of charge, which is quite good. You can visit my site at "Multiply by following this link: http://iwmpop.multiply.com/links In general, I find both groups are too $$$$$-conscious - I just hope " Google " stays faithful to it's present policy....! *************** Tuesday, October 27, 2009 Yahoo Shuts Down Property with 10...

Final notice: GeoCities is closing

Image
Image via CrunchBase There is no doubt, the Web is changing! After " MSN Groups " now "Yahoo GeoCities " - amongst others! Image via Wikipedia Yahoo already closed down their photo pages a while back, on the pretext they had bought "Flickr". Whereas " MSN " at least did offer an alternative service - "Multiply" - free of charge (you can see my efforts here: http://iwmpop.multiply.com/links - where you can see photos, download legally my favourite music tracks and more) - "Yahoo" aren't so generous! The fact is that there are too many "things" - only a few have proved their worth, " Google 's Blogger " Image via CrunchBase being the most important, and Google develops it all the time! I did have a site at "GeoCities" but not even I visited it, and I gave up because it was unreliable and complicated! So - if you've got anything with "Yahoo" - get it ...
