Seems there has been an accident in the Motor Business! It's nothing serious, just a couple of thousand Milliarden (that's round about $2,000,000,000,000,000,000:01 - but then the $ isn't valued as it used to be ). Now - instead of using this great chance to avoid the catastrophy previewed by all the experts, the same experts are going to advise paying! They started by telling us that our overfull roads and parking spaces were killing the planet, and we would have to do something (expensive) about it! SO - instead of stopping production of more planet killing monsters, they want us to subsidize them - even more! Tell me - what use is it to put a monster that's going to kill you in the end - back on it's feet...? Did David do it to Goliath...? Why, tell me, can't this money, if it's available, be used for new industry, new products, and preferably ones which won't kill us all now - or later? It's a bewildering place, this world. It's the Christmas period, so the French (as here in the town of Colmar) decorate - just the same as the British, German, Dutch and all the others. Most of them have spent the last couple of months worrying and complaining about the Financial situation, but now we're up, up and away.... Electricity is FREE (at this time of the year) and the planet warming effect means we don't need to heat our homes as much (I've got just about 20C in my place, with everything pumping out full power-anything else and the wires will melt) - Bewildering too the news from London. Right now, with everybody telling me that the British have been overliving for decades, that Credit Cards are almost unobtainable, "Summerfield" have decided to change (and open to the impoverished public) the "updated" site - here in the picture - at Shepherd's Bush in London. People who come regularly on holiday to the area of mr le Marquis often spent lots of time photographing and filming these creatures. Now they will be pleased to know there is a film all about it in the Cinemas. They may be upset that nobody asked them for THEIR films, but it's all there! Incidentally, one of the reasons this species is not on the "in danger" list is probably because they are quite inedible...! I'm told they are like Swan - rather oily, quite tough and rather "musky" in taste. Wonder how they know...?

(Hey - I'm talking to YOU....!) **************** OK - so I spend a lot of time at the Computer - it's fascinating, and it stops me spending money and time in the Bars and Cafes of the area! But.... I've never gone this far! A serious Website proposes the sale of these things, sandwiched in between AV Programmes and other PC programmes fror Sale - and they sell like hot buns! They tell me that there is even an "USB" Coffee maker, but that the coffee is horrible and never hot! All these things simply plug into your USB sockets, take a load of energy from serious things, but I need those sockets (I've only got 6 of them anyway) for other things, like cameras, printers, scanners, USB keys etc... Are these little things for the rich and pampered who only use the PC for games.. or are they for people in love with their PC's? Coffee breaks (proper ones) are enjoyable and are a tradition - let's carry on enjoying them! Happy Christmas all the same..!

I am European, and I thought I knew Europe, but this...! Well - this is "Sealand" - the smallest "country" in the World - and in Europe! It's an old oil drill rig, bought by some nut, declared Independant and took the US$ as currency (I bet he's regretting that now). It's in the North Sea, and it actually was burnt out due to a fire some years ago. It was then put on sale (probably on e-bay) but no offers were forthcoming, so the nut kept it! Any Offers....? Could put a tent on it, I suppose, but getting to the beach may be a little problematic - the seaside isn't far away, but the beach...? See..! Over the last few months there has hardly been a moment (if one wanted to look) when these things weren't talked about. Now - this happens to be something I saw 5 minutes ago on the TV. The photo is the Logo of "The Bavarian Landesbank" - it's a sort of Regional Control Bank, in Bavaria, Germany - obviously, and as such, it controls many things, like the financing of Local/Regional Governmental plans, and the accountability of local/regional tax money. As such, it is not surprising that Politicians find a lucrative "2nd" income source, as "Directors" - "Advisors" - you know, those fat cats that always shovel it in their personal pockets. Well - I just watched one of these politicians almost wet in the eyes - but only almost - tell the TV audience and the population that he wished to present his (and everybody else's) apologies for the immense COCK UPS which have led to MILLIARD'S of losses at this Bank!
