The word "toubib" is used in France as slang for Doctor, comes from an African word meaning "witchdoctor" - and fulfills its purpose. After all the normal things which left me sure and certain that I must be feeling terrible, if indeed not dead, We passed to my questions, one of which was "what to do about the cramps that came mainly at night in bed?" My toubib, actually a sympathetic type, came up with something which left me mouth wide open!
