The Euston Manifesto This is a link to the "Euston Manifesto" (as th title says!). This is the actual manifesto, but from this page you can go to the "HOME" page. If there's anything I'm NOT......it's POLITICAL! This link, however, gives you access to a thing started a couple of years ago, and on which ( on the Home page) you can read what's happened, make comments on the points made, and probably get expelled for not having sufficient respect for Politicians! Wonder if anything similar exists for the European Parliament or the European Political scene..?

So there we are! Can't win 'em all, that's only fair - that's why we Scots let other people win - We're fair! Besides, if you win all the time (as I know) then eventually, nobody wants to play with you! I think the point has been made anyway - to win anything in the International World of Football, you have to pass bye, or beat the Germans! Sorry about that, but the last time they didn't qualify for World or European Cups/Championships was..... well, actually I don't recall! Congratulations Espagne (and I live close enough to feel the satisfaction in Iberia) played well, even although I sometimes had the feeling they put the opposition to sleep the first 30 minutes and then started playing! Think about it, 44 years ago was the last win for them, so I suppose in 2052 those who are still suffering on this planet may be able to say that again!

I've talked about them before, but now I found a site where you can really investigate these often amusing little "EASTER EGGS". An "easter egg" is a little piece of information often published or included in Web Sites or Programmes, without you really knowing of their existence! The principle is very similar to virus or spyware installation, in so far as the user doesn't know they are present! Often used for additional knowledge on a programme, or (as in this case) as an amusing little thing that probably won't make the headlines - they don't really want it to make the headlines, because it could be "risky". This one was a Google special, at the beginning of the US Bush push on Iraq/Iran, and showed up as a "page error 404" -under certain circumstances! I've kept away from the subject - specially - don't want to rub it in, but...... Germany, Football... no - don't go away, it's only for fun - really! I've even turned my PC on again, witness the time of this article, but Mr G. Linecker ( see quotes above on the left hand side) would appear to be correct! The thing is - Germany is a "TOURNAMENT" team. We've seen it often in the past, they can lose a "friendly" match 3,4,5, goals to ZERO, but to lose or draw EVERY match they play, in a tournament, I've never seen - ever! I didn't want to say it, but I told you so! I didn't want to say either, that all the components for the "normal" future of this 2008 European Championship were present! Italy - rubbish in the first (group) matches, Germany - the same! But... All the components are there for a final Germany versus Italy - almost as usual!
