   Some years go by with little or no events worth noting.....2010 was NOT one of those years. The Queen of England once called the year that had gone by as "Anus Horriblis" which had nothing to do with the posterior or "rear end", and MY 2010 was a mixture of everything....! Starting, as usual with January, it made its way  through to December.....strangely enough! January presented itself with its normal increases in Insurance costs, Electricity costs, Gas costs, in other words - increases in everything - except my Pensions....a normal start! February and March brought the usual reflections on "departed people" -  mainly people far too young to have "departed", and in 2010 the month of March brought a further addition to the list,  not a person, something much closer and much more dependant on me - "Granite de l'Oasis" - who you can see in the photo above.  An animal who had shared the ups and downs of my life for 18 years, w

 I'm really rather proud of myself! After nearly a year of sitting around with a brand new PC, much, much better than the old one, but which didn't work, thanks to the incapabilities of MSI and their so called Technicians, even after 3 journey's (paid for by them) Vauvert - Paris - Brussels - Amsterdam - some little place in Holland ....and back....YES...THREE TIMES....! One would think they would finally do something reasonable, but no....just send it back with the same old system from 2004 or so, needing updates (payable) for a Linux system proud of saying that it was free, and even then - didn't work! After partitioning (and if you don't know what that is be thankful) I finally got it to use Windows XP - except it refused to go onto the Internet and was therefore practically USELESS....! Finally, fed up with waiting for promised discs to return - Post or whatever - I took an Installation disc for a truly free  Linux system called UBUNTU.... Well, well - look

Of course, what I'd seen was just the bus station of all these places,  but I could now honestly say "I'd been there....!" 3 days, 2 nights of jiggling up and down in buses, but with the  notable  exception of the food, I'd enjoyed it, and I could say that I'd  really seen  the countryside! Now - I couldn't look another fried chicken piece or a Hamburger  in the  face without feeling ill! Earlier on today, I was writing a little piece about Christmas on...     http://gourmandisedemrlemarquis.blogspot.com/   and I was using, as usual "Google Images" for my illustrations, when I fell upon a "Christmas bug story". I'd like to tell you about it...! Looking for some ideas about World wide Christmas, I clicked on a thing, and it opened up - like normal....then all hell broke loose! I made a quick "screenshot" of it...here you are: Something I'd never heard of opened up....scanned (far too quickly) all of my computer and then told me it had found "XXXXX" viruses...! You can imagine that I wasn't too pleased! I thought about it, and then I downloaded, BUT DIDN'T INSTALL, the logicial they suggested to clean up the problem. See there - my own Anti-virus suddenly started up and told me that it had found a "Trojan Horse" type virus.   Guess where.......yep - in the little logicial I had just download
