Santons.......... These are "miniatures" which portray life in the area, all hand carved and made, enormously expensive! They are always trotted out for the Christmas period - and a "creche" using the local traditions and customs is prepared........together with the normal Christmas creche ones. If it wasn't for their price, I'd start a collection!  Because - they are truly magnificent.........  Ain't they....? These creations are unique to the South of France..... The one above only costs around 400 euros  (circa $480)  ..........dirt cheap......!
