10 handy Firefox about:config hacks | 10 Things | TechRepublic.co

Image
Just a little tip I found out about! http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/10things/?p=719 Quickly explained, this link (or you can descend THIS page for the same thing) gives you the chance to "tweak" the Firefox Browser. Make it better, because apart from the tab "options" there are hundreds of things you can change to make it run faster, better and smoother. OK - that said, BE CAREFUL, because changes can be dangerous! That's whu Mozilla give you a warning before you can open the page. As you probably know, Google and Mozilla are "transparent" - that means that their processes are open to all - you've just got to understand how to use it, and that if you make changes - well, they can possibly not be done correctly BY YOU....! All the instructions are given, and the simpler changes are given below. Just take time, and if you're not sure, then don't do it! You can also Google search "using about config" (just type it into the se...

Funny old day, really.....!

Image
Image by Bern@t via Flickr Funny old day, really. Started by watching the Barcelona Tourist Board representatives tearing their hair out as the rain poured down in "Sunny Spain ", during the Tour de France (those people who have been following me for days on their bikes). Sipping delicately on my German beer , at home in the truly sunny South of France , I tuned a page on my PC from Holland, to the direct commentary from Cardiff (Welsh Wales ) of the 1st Test match in cricket between ENGLAND and AUSTRALIA, on the British BBC Radio Player, just occasionally looking at my evening meal of lamb provencale, bubbling away on the stove. The TV was now burbling away in Italian, on the Satellite Dish , and I was controlling e-mails in German, French, English (both American and British styles). This evening I'll be watching football from Denmark , between Danish and German clubs, probably in German, but maybe in French - Image by iwmpop via Flickr Time flies, and so it...

Two types of mentality.....

Google Chrome OS will be aimed initially at small, low-cost netbooks , but will eventually be used on PCs as well. Google said netbooks with Chrome OS could be on sale by the middle of 2010. "Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS," the firm said in its official blog. The operating s...

Official Google Blog Introducing the Google Chrome OS Posted: 07 Jul 2009 09:40 PM PDT It's been an exciting nine months since we launched the Google Chrome browser . Already, over 30 million people use it regularly. Well-I never even noticed, still - I just hope it stays as good...!(mrlemarquis) Official Google Blog Google Apps is out of beta (yes, really) Posted: 07 Jul 2009 08:06 AM PDT We're often asked why so many Google applications seem to be perpetually in beta. For example, Gmail has worn the beta tag more than five years. We realize this situation puzzles some people, particularly those who subscribe to the traditional definition of "beta" software as not being yet ready for prime time. Ever since we launched the Google Apps suite for businesses two years ago, it's had a service level agreement, 24/7 support, and has met or exce...
