..Since a lot of you are still up to the ears in snow, if not snow then freezing the proverbial brass ones, I thought a little article concerning other times of the year may interest you, you know - the time of year when you all start travelling, and complaining that it's too hot...... The area down here in the South is full of surprises, for everybody...if you can't find something to do then you're a hopeless case, even for the infamous "wine-o-clock-addicts". It's my aim to give you a few ideas over the weeks coming up to Easter ( the period when particularly British tourists suddenly find themselves in the area, start reddening in brand new swimsuits and slinky little "beach-dresses" and suffer nights of misery in their accomodation wriggling from sunburn) of some of the other things you can find here in the area of "mr le marquis", apart from the endlessly long sunny, sandy beaches ...! Let's start off with the second largest ...

This is from a Personal Message I sent to friends   2 minutes ago This is from a PM sent to Friends on " Facebook " 14 February 2011 Good Morning, Just a little word to explain briefly the events of the past weekend, and to thank you all for your messages on Facebook and elsewhere. In the night Friday/Saturday, I suffered a "minor" event and was obliged to call the emergency number here in France (the "15" - Europe wide). This puts you automatically in touch with a "Duty Doctor" who advises you on the telephone of what possibilities are open to you in the individual circumstances. In my case, and because of suspicions of cardiac problems due to my past history of heart bypass operations, it was decided to send an ambulance to my home to take me to the excellent Cardiac Urgency unit at the "Carameau" CHU, in Nimes, France . Although I was fairly certain that I had no Cardiac problems, I was obliged to accept the advice....
