Well, the question now is......."Dare I hope....?" Just 3 months ago I weighed in at around 95 kilos (190 lbs) and through illness, I rapidly lost weight so that I went down to 75 kilos (150 lbs) in a very short time.  (Not myself!) The Doctors, specialists or generalists had no ideas - no solutions, simply suggesting more food, more often. This was the first time Doctors had ever told me to eat eggs, if I liked them, as often as I could - or wanted to! They are a high quality but easily "arrangable" foodstuff....my only problem is that if I'm not wrong, it's only a short while ago I was being told they are not a good thing for us cardiacs'......! Well it seemed to me that the more logical solution would be to find the reason for my extreme weight loss - and "remedy" it - but how....? Then.......a few days ago, I was told finally that there had been a specialist who had made the suggestion that a certain medicament should be taken to allevi...

Without her help, I would, without doubt, no longer exist. It is very difficult for somebody like myself, totally habituated to organising, arranging everything, to suddenly be incapable of doing practically anything in my own life, and only the fantastic help of someone I love and who loves me could possibly get me over, if I get over, this terrible phase in my life. Well, it looks (and feels) as though summer is back again. We had quite a long wait for the real Southern France heat of summer to invade our area, although never really particularly cold or even out of the ordinary, it was certainly not the usual heat, and only into late June did it finally give a little taste of real warmth the area is capable of giving."TC" (aka "her indoors") suffered a little during the first heat, but it didn't last too long, and she developed her own system of dealing with it, mainly hunched up in front of the mobile air conditionning plant,  which I personally usually keep turned off except for maybe a couple of days now and then.....mainly due to the noise the thing makes. She insisted on being used to this unseemly racket, something I find difficult to beleive, since I personally can't take more than a couple of minutes of it, particularly not in the bedroom! Things weren't helped either, of course, by the situation regardin...

This is the root of the evil  "ill-health"! Just a route too long, too exhausting, and finally - for me, the route directly into hospital........ Anybody got any cures for too low blood pressure and dizziness/nausea....? Marseille-Cognac - map.jpg The mapped out route.....Tina came back via this....we went via Lyon and Limoges.

 Well, yes - it was supposed to be a holiday. Marseille on "business" - obtain an Italian Passport for my wife- and then carry on to try to celebrate the fact with her friends in the Charentes /Cognac area. Yes - a long way, but we allowed as much time as was required, in fact we didn't even really have an itinerary. Drive - stop to eat or drink as we wished, stop to overnight as required .....which is what we did. And yet - something didn't work! Marseille was a dream. Hotel and the stay were more than acceptable, and the business went off beautifully - Italian Passport obtained with little fuss, our small amount of "tourism" done with success, and happily completed, we set off to the longer journey, but with no more than 250 to 300km's per day on the programme. Day one towards Charentes, rain......mountains and dizzy spells for me......and things had started on their downward path! Where and why these dizzy spells no one knows, not even right...

Suze la Rousse wine University Tina Concetta got word about her Passport from the Italian Embassy in Marseille, so we had to decide how - when - where to go in all, for how long and all the rest! Hotel reserved near the Embassy, just one night, which gives us 2 days to sightsee! Vieux Port, Bouillabaisse, les Calanques (maybe) and generally. Not forgetting the Italian PASSPORT! Planned route. We may leave Monday 4th June, take our time eating at midday in a Routiers, take our chance on a hotel for Monday Night, arrive in Marseille on the Tues 5th - book in to the hotel and go looking......! Wednesday 6th  early - at 0930hrs - Italian Embassy - PASSPORT! Depending how long that takes, back to hotel, book out and take off towards Orange and Bollene, passing many other well known places like Avignon, our aim being more Routiers restaurants, and the Wine University village of Suze la Rousse (Google it!) where the wine to be bought is second only to the best Burgun...

 It's a fact - I never thought about such things, beleiving that my health problems were sufficiently complicated without having something like GALLSTONES ! They are just visible on the bottom right (last) image, kind of  little black/white dots. They are presenting a real problem, since an operation has been refused to date - they don't want to put me under because of the strain to my already very weak heart condition. Tomorrow (Weds 9 May 2012) is consultation day at the hospital, finally - after months, to try to figure out the future. Both I and Tina Concetta will have to take a decision eventually, after hearing the specialist. Little things - big problem!
