Home Grown? No longer good enough!
I don’t know about the sentiments declared on the photo, but certainly something is wrong – somewhere!
Had you said to Queen Elizabeth I that in the “not too distant future” England’s Arsenal would be run by a Frenchman, imagine what kind of reception you may have expected – but it’s a fact!
Such things are sent to try us, but there are certain facts one can deduce from the situation!
This is a Tomato!
This is a “home grown” tomato even – and it isn’t good enough anymore!
Firstly it’s full of pips, full of water, has little good taste, costs a fortune, and secondly, it’s only available for use around about 4 months of the year and even then hasn’t got the class needed!
Sound familiar?
Yep – that’s almost the same as the “home grown” footballer!
After the recent bleating from the English about Israel’s fixed match with Russia (before they even played it-according to many highly qualified English twatts), we saw that “home grown” is only of any use when it doesn’t have to serve! 
Others do the work for them – and they find that normal! Scotland lost, OK, hard luck, but the same holds good – “home grown” isn’t good enough anymore! After all – Football’s Authorities made England’s task so difficult, Israel, Russia etc, whilst Scotland had the way through laid open for them, with little known Footballing Nations like France and Italy as their opponents.
Fact is – as I write, it looks like none, or very few of the “home” nations will qualify for the EM2008 in Austria and Switzerland, and those who do qualify will do so more by luck than judgment or personal effort!
Personally, I never wanted to go to those 2 countries anyway, I already know them so well, but a little investigation into the why’s and wherefores of this dismal display is needed!
For example, the Germans have all sorts of “imported” in their Bundesliga, but the German National Team is still feared, respected and successful . Their Bundesliga is also very agreeable to watch.
The Italians, on the other hand, although full of “imports” and although Nationally very successful, can stuff their “Nazionale” – I prefer anything other than 0-0 or 0-1, 1-1, 1-0 etc………
The French are the same as the Italians, too busy chasing women round like stallions, but Internationally they are successful!
So why are England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland North and South so bad?
I think it’s because many of the players left in Britain, have got used to not playing, earning huge amounts, although sitting on the bank and watching the “imports” do the job every Saturday, like it, and simply can’t understand when the phrase is trotted out:
“Your country needs YOU !”
What for? Jeeeez, don’t you know I’m home grown, and we’re not in season out of season!
June and July are for Summer holidays, not playing football in Switzerland or Austria.
What would the wife say if we qualified!!??
