This Blog ( and all the other Sites/Blogs from "mr le marquis enterprises") are non-political, but do have articles about the actuality of things!
All over France tomorrow, I and millions of others will be passing half an hour or so to put our "X" on bits of paper. It's called voting, and tomorrow it's "local/Departmental/a few others, all mixed up" time!
All over France there will also be the same deliberation and problematic decision to take! The vast majority of "non-party" voters, would like to take this opportunity of telling MR. Sarkozy what they think of him, his morals, way of life, fashion of speech, but particularly his non-politics (as against what was promised some 9 months ago).
Now this lady may have something to do with it all, but it most certainly is not her fault. Mr Sarkozy has done it all by himself, like a grown up schoolboy - has insulted the voters both verbally and in their intelligence, insulted the position of President, and is now frantically offering himself as all sorts of things, from hostage for kidnapped Frenchwomen to saviour of France - all in an attempt to buoy up his rapidly falling popularity vote (fallen by some 40% since being elected). Whether he will succeed or not (he has, after all, another 6 years to try) remains to be seen, but the problem is that he should be getting on with the job he was elected for, and not passing his days (and nights) trying to bolster up his personal reputation!

Another problem is that although the voter would like to pass a "backhander", there are numerous Cities, towns and villages, where the local Politician (the famous Mr. le Maire) has actually done some exceptional work over the last period, even although he/she belongs to "Sarkozy" party. Dilemma - forget the backhander in favour of good local work (transport-roads-social network etc..)

OK! But what happens when, once re-elected, the Mr le Maire decides to follow the example of his exalted leader? Wait another 6 years to throw him out?

This question, shown as in the name of this French Village (yes, the name is REAL), is the one which many people in France will be asking themselves both today and for the next 6 years!

And, to date, none of the candidates has actually invited me to have an Aperatif - maybe I'll just stay in bed tomorrow!
