Understand....? Explanation please...!
It's a bewildering place, this world.
It's the Christmas period, so the French (as here in the town of Colmar) decorate - just the same as the British, German, Dutch and all the others.
Most of them have spent the last couple of months worrying and complaining about the Financial situation, but now we're up, up and away....
Electricity is FREE (at this time of the year) and the planet warming effect means we don't need to heat our homes as much (I've got just about 20C in my place, with everything pumping out full power-anything else and the wires will melt) - Bewildering too the news from London. Right now, with everybody telling me that the British have been overliving for decades, that Credit Cards are almost unobtainable, "Summerfield" have decided to change (and open to the impoverished public) the "updated" site - here in the picture - at Shepherd's Bush in London.
They've changed it so it looks like this:
It's got over 280 shops/boutiques etc, and almost 50 cafes and restaurants!
All they have to do now is to get those people in who have still got credit or credit cards...!
I suppose the fact that the UK no longer has an "Automobile Industry" is paying dividends now! No requirement for a "help" package, and they cab all go to this NEW SUPER STORE...!
Mind you - even if I lived over there, I wouldn't be going, since I understand that my old time favourite "Woolworths" won't be represented - the company that almost every British girl of the epoch knew as the payer of Saturday night makeup (Saturday jobs at Woolworths were almost always available, even for those young ladies who ate more of the sweets they were supposed to sell). Mind you - M&S (who everybody thought dead and buried some time ago) WILL be there, protected probably by St. Michael.
As I said at the beginning - it's bewildering. Seems that a small percentage of Residents, world-wide, are not really affected by the crisis - but isn't that always the case.....?
In any case, if those people are ever affected, they call on their Political friends to bail them out - at the expense of the little guy - of course.
