Saving time...!
-----and while I'm here, I thought I'd pass on a little tip - if you're not already aware of it!Probably ALL of us have got stuff on our PC hard disk that shouldn't really be there, but some of it can have a real influence on the speed of start up - reboot - page searching, links opening and a whole bundle of other things.
How often have you sat there and waited and waited, just waiting for your PC to wake up and get out of bed!
One of the biggest culprits are the "social (chat and instant messaging) sites".
There are few of them who don't require some kind of programme so you can use them (Google chat is one that is very light on resources).

The main problem is that programmes of this nature (and others such as Skype, Voipbuster etc - with which you can telephone free of charge PC-PC, or send SMS messages cheaply or even free of charge) generally install, by default, an automaticated start up of their programme as soon as you punch the boot or start the PC.
The problem there is that some of these programmes take a long time to start up, and this time simply prolongs the overall start up time needed by your PC - before you can get to using it!
So - turn them off, these useless (at that moment)programmes! Let your PC concentrate on starting up so you can use it. You can always start up the other programmes manually when you need them (just go into START - ALL PROGRAMMES - select the programme you want and click to start) whilst you're waiting - pop off and have another cup of coffee!
To stop programmes automatically loading up, there are many possibilities, but among the simplest are either to go into the programme itself and look for the box to unclick (normally under "advanced settings") marked "start programme when I start PC/Windows".

There is another way - even more simple and giving you total control over what programmes start when your PC does, and they are called "start-up delayers". You can Google the term, and you'll find many, all basically free of charge.
One of the best, and useful in other ways as well, is the free programme you can download right here on this page!
"CCLEANER" it's called and it's on the left hand side of the page.
Install it on your PC, and open it. Once opened, ignore the bottom right corner "check for updates" and all the other things, just go to the left hand side of the page, select "tools" then "startup". From the page that opens, you can disable programmes as you wish - just click on the programme and then "disable" at the bottom!
Easy - huh...?
Don't disable something which you don't understand though, could be naughty, but I have my printer disabled - because I don't need it immediately after start up, and a whole lot of other things as well. To enable the programmes, all you have to do is start them up from the start menu!
Now you can get on with doing the work you wanted to!
(If you prefer, you can click the title of this article and go to the Ccleaner home page and download the cleaner)
