Strange things-or commercial pride...?

For many years I've used, and been very happy with a free programme "AVG" anti-virus.
We've all got to have one, because of those little people with no intelligence, except of a destructive nature, and their little bugs (which is why those people are called "buggers").
I searched for, and thought I'd found, the best and LEAST intrusive of the free programmes, with AVG Free.

Well - for years I had, but just recently, I've been having rather large problems with this programme, slowing down the PC, signalling updates as "n/a" (if it updated at all), wild starting up of the "Scan" (which on my PC takes up to 6 hours!) - ignoring completely my setting of "disable this task" - no reaction to the command of "stop all scans" and generally "buggering" me about!
I'd also noticed a different approach from AVG Free, a more agressive form of marketing, to get you to buy their professional programme.
Well, if the current Free programme is anything to go on, I will not be buying - and if they have put these little "stumbling blocks" in to annoy me - and therefore get me to buy the payable version - THEY ARE COMPLETELY WRONG!
In fact - the reverse!
I've just taken AVG Free off - "recycle binned" - after two attempts to recharge the programme to no avail.
I will also do my best to inform as many people as possible of this fact.
I've installed "AVAST free" - slightly heavier (negligible) and AVG Free can do "you know what".
My life! My PC is so fast now, I can't keep up with it, and surfing, writing etc has become a pleasure again!
If this is an example of what "forced sales" or "agressive marketing" is, then please note this "AVG":
YOU HAVE JUST LOST A CLIENT - AND THAT FOR GOOD!
I'll do my best to spread the word as well!
When I think of it, hours, days, weeks, spent - looking for the problem!
I closed all add-ons, claimed that "zemanta" was responsible, or

"Firefox" - the world in general or what...........
No - AVG FREE was the culprit - I found out finally when an unauthorised, unwanted scan took off, all by itself, and 6 hours later, refused to close down, and just sat there on the screen for another 2 hours, telling me it was "FINISHING".........!
Now it's gone - dead and buried, so one piece of advice to all of you:
CHECK YOUR Anti Virus Programme - any suspicions, take it off and use a different one.
Maybe they're all the same - after some time - agressively inclined, but then - change again!
