Remember the big scare....?
Remember that big scare not so long ago...?
Half of the planet's population was going down! No doubt, according to "WHO" (World Health Organisation).
Misery, despair and the red death were awaiting!
Well - as we now know, nothing of the sort.
The only thing that has happened is that many rumours and some facts are slowly emerging, the facts regarding the cost of the action, and the rumours regarding certain members of "WHO" employees, who - it seems - had rather too close relationships with manufacturers and financiers of the so badly needed serum and equipment.
Nothing seems to be centralised, one has to await individual figures from individual countries. Dark and murky deeds indeed!
France - one knows roughly - has something in the area of 100,000,000 (100 million)euros worth of near obsolete serum and products.
Germany has just come out with the sum of 250,000,000 (250 million) euros worth, and we are still waiting for the larger countries - like the USA and the UK - to even mention a sum!
After the Bankers, now the "learned professions" another bunch who demand our respect. We now learn that the possibility exists that financial skullthuggery may have been going on!
We can only hope that the clarity missing in the politician's figures will not be missing in any possible investigation into"WHO's" relationships with producers and others, and hope that we will eventually be informed of who did what, where, when and why so that the broom can sweep cleanly...
Of course it would be nice to know when and where the culprits will be publicly flogged, so we can book our tickets promptly!
I must confess that I have my doubts as to ANY investigation taking place, much less any of these so "honourable and respectable" villains ever being investigated, much less convicted and, unfortunately even less being publicly flogged.
As a simple, not to be respected citizen, I must say that the actions taken by Governments were correct. It IS their job number 1 to protect their citizens, but protection must also be understood as investigations into where the Citizen's money has gone.
Every man has his duty - is that right or wrong?

Actually, I'm rather glad I don't know..! |
