Dear colleague

Summer is here and we're dedicating this month's newsletter to having fun! First up are the summer season events across the region - from pop concerts to fireworks, there's something for everyone in Languedoc-Roussillon! Holiday makers will also enjoy our guides to the Catalan town of Céret and the Mediterranean resort of Cap d'Agde, and everyone will be looking forward to Jean-Marc Boyer's New York inspired menu! We've also put together a short summary of French wedding etiquette for those of you who have a lovely southern French do to go to! And finally, whilst the summer is all about fun and games, we've been in touch with the Croix Blanche first aid organisation - find out how you can get first aid training and be safe in any occasion!

July & August Events

What's On link
Throughout the summer months hundreds of events and festivals take place across the Languedoc Roussillon - from small village fetes to large scale fireworks productions. Here we list some of this summer's big highlights across the region - but don't forget to pop into your local town hall or tourist office to get details of smaller events happening near you!

Beach, Golf, Spa, Fun and Culture!

Le Cap d'Agde - Mediterranean beach resort
Le Cap d'Agde Mediterranean beach resort has it all! If you've only got a week to experience the best of the Languedoc, then head over to Le Cap d'Agde to get a fantastic taste of everything! With easy access via Béziers-Cap d'Agde airport and the nearby A9 motorway, miles of sandy beaches, an international golf course, several spas, protected nature reserves, loads of family fun, restaurants and markets celebrating Languedoc wines and cuisine, a rich heritage and traditions and more - you'll get a fantastic introduction to the Languedoc all in one place! Check out our Cap d'Agde Guide to start planning your holiday!

French Wedding Etiquette

French Wedding Etiquette
It's summertime and the wedding season is in full swing! If you are lucky enough to have been invited to a wedding in France this summer, or are planning to get married in France next summer, you may want to have a few pointers as to the correct wedding and dining etiquette to ensure that you don't commit a terrible faux pas! Read on for a few notes that I've picked up that just might spare your blushes!

Town Guide: Céret

Town Guide: Céret
Céret has become something of a magnet for those looking for true southern French charm, but for many, the true Céret is the Catalan Céret. Indeed Céret is located in the heart of French Catalonia, about half an hour south of Perpignan and just 15 minutes from the Spanish border. Find out more about the culture and activities that Céret has to offer in our Céret town guide.

New York, New York! at Les Puits du Tresor

New York, New York! at Les Puits du Tresor
Last month local Michelin-starred chef Jean-Marc Boyer helped to showcase Languedoc-Roussillon wine and cuisine at a dinner event in New York organised by the prestigious James Beard Foundation. Jean-Marc Boyer is delighted to have had this exceptional opportunity, and this summer will be presenting diners at his restaurant near Carcassonne the opportunity to enjoy the dishes he presented at the event. To reserve your table this summer, see the Puits du Trésor contact info here.

Learning First Aid in France

Learning First Aid in France
We were recently contacted by Beckie Roques, who works with the Croix Blanche association that provides first aid assistance across France and first aid training courses to individuals and groups. Beckie will soon be qualifying as a first aid teacher and will be offering first aid training courses in English and French. Read on to find out more.
