Friends - he loves me, he loves me not..he loves me....

Here are two people who will never be friends. No question of "kissing rings" - no question of tolerance, no question of "you did a good job"....
Protestant - and I'm staying that way, anti-Papist, and anything remotely dealing with Catholicism.  Catholic - and I'm staying that way, Protestant is a way of living that is insupportable.
And yet, as I understand it, they both believe in the same thing, or at least they say they do. They both read the same book, or at least they say they do.....
And - that book is not this one:  They probably DO have one common friend in fact, and all of us are now being invaded by images and press conferences of their mutual friend - a little American "pastor" (i.e. A leader and protector of sheep or mutton) who proposes, out of probably National fervance and pride, to burn as many copies of the "unwanted" book as possible.
Tolerance at its highest point, using "democratic" rights. I recall another occasion in history when the printed word was given to the flames:    Of course, it didn't help either in War efforts, nor in International Diplomacy, and there have been equally horrific episodes in the history of  "faiths", imposed by people who neither respected individuals nor any form of opposition to their own personally chosen way of life.
What gives these people such delusions? What makes them think they can do the things they do?
It seems that before the invention, by man, of such things as Religion, the World was a peaceful place, just a few volcanoes, a couple of Dinosaurs and things like that.....
Only after the introduction of "beliefs" did that change, and violence was introduced by certain people - for all others, but in particular for their own satisfaction.
That seems to be when the "purifying" powers of fire were discovered, and the poor plants suffered first, burning bushes in the desert and so on....After all, don't forget,  the last time folks listened to a Bush, they spent years wandering in the desert and still are.... And yet - some love must be there, somewhere......
otherwise, why this photograph...?

  Love and kisses...
If fire is so purifying, then I suppose we will all have a forced passage to heaven VIA hell....and some of us won't get out again.....
Religion and politics - fire and water?
