Although I'm sure you know this site, I'm publishing it here because of changes to French Road Signs, which may confuse the one or the other of you! The reason for the change (which you can read about on this page) is that in France, "N" Roads are financed by the State, and "D" roads by the Department concerned.
Why the changes? Probably so that the State can spend less on the upkeep!
Mind you, there have been around 600 new signs to be put up, and therefore 600 old ones to take down and dispose of! There are (according to this evening's National News -"NN"-) around a further 700-800 which must be done!
They started in the North - I wonder why? You all know that all roads in France lead eventually to the area of "Mr le Marquis" anyway!
