More silly than usual day.

This is turning out a "more silly than normal day" but why not - the weather ain't too great, so I'm stopping at home! Don't know where Britbulldog gets such large pickle jars from, and I'm watching out for Wackybacky's feet in the future!!

But he's on his bike!

We'll have to ask Wacky-backy!

couple of posters for you all!

Was just going through my photo albums, putting another couple of hundred photos of cartoons, posters and other (naughtier) things in place, when I thought - send 'em a couple of clean ones. After hours of searching, I finally found the ones below! (and above).

Septimanie: Important for you tourists!

Image
I would be prepared to bet (although not a betting man - the odds have been too stacked up against me all of my life) that when you saw the title of this Blogspot, you said to yourself, to your entourage - mr. le Marquis has had too much to drink, AGAIN! Well, you may be right/wright/write - shall we say correct, but apparantly not as much as Mr. Georges FRECHE - who has once again taken over the reins in the area you ALL once knew as: "LANGUEDOC- ROUSSILLON " This was the area comprising roughly of the French Departments: GARD, HERAULT, LOZERE, AVEYRON : the area of your holidays. Now, according to mr. FRECHE (a regional politician, leader - president - of the currently governing party/coalition), we must all, tourists and residents, get used to the fact that he has decided to change the name of the Region to the supposed and assumed, ancient Roman name: "SEPTIMANIE" ( http://www.septimanie.fr/ ) ( you click on th...

Tempis fugit!

After my offerings of the day, I now have a final, but serious point to make. Where and how, in the past, did I ever find time to go to work? Just yesterday, at the end of the day, I ran through in the mind, all the different hat's I had worn on that day! I'd been a tiger trainer, given food to the wild beast. I'd been breakfast Chef/Waiter/washer-upper. I'd been Head Gardener, chief of the laundry department (which will involve me later in the post of Chief valet) I'd sorted out all the problems of the Finance Dept., of the Office generally, I'd casually done the work of the entire room-cleaning services, just before popping back to don the "long Tom" of Head Chef to prepare lunch, (I had previously found the time to do the job of Chief purchasing officer) after which I swapped apron's, to become chief bottle washer, discarding my chief waiter's disguise in passing! So it continued - for hours. Now I know that most of you have a "her-in...

Eat - drink - be merry.

Today being a Tuesday, I should be in the Chateau gardens, but with Easter coming up, I've given myself a few days off! I went off to the kitchen, neglected rather, since the arrival of a PC in the Chateau, and suddenly was smitten with a phrase, long forgotten : "BUBBLE & SQUEAK " I found what I considered to be the necessary ingredients, and returned to my PC for a consultation! At first I thought of calling Tinkerbelle on the phone for her ancient recipe, but finally I took the chance, and went googly! Would you beleive it!! 10,465 replies to "Bubble & Squeak"!!! Worse than the ladies guild Annual contest . How can anyone do 10,465 DIFFERENT things with left-over cooked potatoes, cabbage, onions (and for me GARLIC)? I avoided the pitfalls, and refused to get involved with Bubble & Squeak with caviar, or with rump steak, or with scrambled eggs etc, etc, etc. I did it traditionally! Lots of everything, with pork fat in abu...

Clever German Civil Servants.

Image
I think that a German Politician/civil servant somewhere is a blog reader! Some time ago, I complained about the decreases in my pension, and the fact they had decide "NO INCREASES FOR YEARS" for anybody (and particularly not to Mr. le Marquis!!) Well, I just got a letter from Berlin to tell me that they were going to increase my pension from, July onwards, by the princely sum of -2euros and a few cents- minus the obviously increased insurances (increased because of the increase, if YOU see what they mean!!) Since the last news was an increase in DEDUCTIONS of some 52 euros per month, I've worked out that on this basis, we should be back where we started in about 23 years (2028) and I hope they won't be late in sending it to wherever I find myself at that time. A direct line for payments can't yet be booked, 'cos we don't know whether it's up or down stairs!! Nevertheless, nice to know that maybe somewhere a BLOGSPOT can be useful!! ...

Dutch treats.

There we are - one card finally got through! Didn't lose one on the way, not even the Dutch girlie! Doesn't she remind some of us, of someone, some of us know?! Although the card got through, I won't be doing a lot of it - it took a couple of days and quite a lot of time!! Enjoy it - it's quite amusing, don't forget your speakers! I'm missing one other now - a GREEN one!!

Blogs,Groups but mainly Americans!

Image
At the risk of repeating myself (I don't know what's going on anymore) I shall continue my short history of recent MSN Groups/Googleblogspots. Seems I have access only to English(!)speaking, and therefore mainly American groups or spots. Doesn't, or didn't bother me, but the other week I stumbled across a Group which I thought may be interesting to look at, so off I went! I don't know if the "link" is going to show up on this article, so I'll give you all the address in full: WineatMSNGroups@groups.msn.com a somewhat confusing address, I'm sure you will agree, but anyway, I persevered, became a member under the alias of "Fired Manager" (those of you involved in the MSN Group scene will recognize the alias), and posted a message, in reply to another one already existing. Being of an open nature, not really vindictive (whilst knowing the nature of those who some imbecile once called "our North American cousins") but wishing to pr...
