It has to be!

I know it's boring, but these trials have to be! I'm still practicing and trying the links setup. It now appears that all you have to do when looking at this page, is to click the title at the top, wait, and normally the link should be made. Of course, mr. le marquis, the magician has worked in the background to get you all as far as that! Last posting worked - did you try? Go on, go down and click on the title - Sunshine, warmth, cars sinking in floods - everything you need! Don't know if this one will work or not - could be fun if it did! If it works, I'll let you know what use it could be to thee and mee!

Trial - Don't forget!!

Don't forget to have a look in from time to time, especially when it's wet and windy at home - Here is sunshine and warmth!! (Just click on the title of this spot and wait - it's easy!)

Guess what?

1). This is where you should be on Sunday next! 2). This is to guide you on your way (men always complain that wife can't map-read) I had loads of other photos, but blogger isn't working well - again! One more attempt: Told you so - this is tinkerbelle being excessive, Chippie is up on Sugar loaf mountain imploring the Christ Statue to find his "her-indoors" - she, in the meantime is amusing herself! Just so you know, my next blog will deal with "Gillingham" - charming village and it's soccer team, run on a shoe-string, but full of enthusiastes!

London Shines

London Shines Originally uploaded by MykReeve . What about this!! Proves that almost EVERYTHING can be beautiful - even my mate Chippy! Incidentally, the address required is www.flickr.com and take it from there. I beleive that on certain photos I have published, like this one,it only needs a click on the photo and a bit of patience, and you'll be able to look at some magnificent photos, and in much larger size (hit F11), not even available on Google photo-image search. My God - anyone would think I had shares in this thing!!

Try linking up!

This "link" field used to work, but I'm damned if I can get it back to where it was! Yep, folks, another trial, but you see - if I'm going to treat you to more of my stories this winter, I could use the link field mightily! The words I've put in would surprise me if any thing happened, but if not, and you still want to see all the photos of Chippy,Tinker,WB and fam,BBulldog and fam., etc then go to the following: www.Flick'r once in, tap "explore" or search for photos by "iwmpop"! If it all works, have a look at the photos by "slideshow" (there are around 100 photos, but it doesn't take long) You can then look at your nearest and dearest, and maybe even download those you like onto your own PC, or Print, or send by e-mail, or onto your own CD-R, or all of these things! And I've had the chance to try this link field, whilst, I hope, informing you!

Unusual sendings!

I've had quite a hard week on this PC. I decided to have a week's "learn what you can" course, and I'm not sure that it hasn't thrown up more things to learn about than I actually learnt! It certainly threw up a few surprise result A "funny/amusing" item I came across and sent to Wacky-backy (he appreciates these things!) turned out to be (I always send myself a copy onto g-mail, that way I know the things been sent and received, at least by me) something completely different - maybe Wacky-backy is feeling upset, but I didn't mean it - it wasn't me - me sir? No sir. Him sir? Yes sir!! This was followed up by some lovely "bird" photos ( a link to 30,000 of them) to my mate Chippie was returned as "address unknown!" Christ knows where Chippie's gone, but if he wants the instructions then he'll have to ask me for them. He and Tinkerbelle are into birdy, orny, things (apart from bath nights) but I don't know if he ...

Trials - not for general consumption.

After some discussion with Blogger, dealing with the large amount of space before a post begins, I am now obliged to try out the ideas and advice given. If you all would take this to be the equivalent of the BBC's 50's TV "pottery wheel" used to fill in the hours between the 5 daily programmes(!) Remember? I also have to try to work out a new system on the putting to file of some of these articles. I know how to do it in principle (I do it all the time for BB - stingy old s--) so you and I can read offline if one so wishes! At the moment it isn't a complicated procedure, but very long! As I never hesitate to say - try the most obvious and simple way, and that's how it will work - PC's are made like that! Simple, stupid, infernal, machines! I'm cleverererererer! (I think). You only have to look at the people who make and develope the damned things! They're all zombies! So let's see if it'll work!

Bloggers' frailties!

As usual, Blogger newcomers will be perplexed to see Part III then Part II then Part I of the series "Floods". This is the way Blogger works, and who am I but a mere whisper to even dream of telling him to change it! To read a Blog (in the order it was intended) you must do what you always do with GOOD books, close it, re-open it, and start from the 1st page! (In this case, just go to the start of the item you want, and work upwards.) My archives tell me that I have published some 608 articles, so you'll have a long way to go to get back to the beginning! The archives can be used by clicking onto whatever month, and looking at the list. Found something? Click on it, and the page will open up. On the photos, there are 3 different possibilities, a) photos sent using "Hello" are saveable as small or large size, by clicking onto the photo, then the "Hello" logo will give you the possibility of large size, simply cursing onto the photo will give you all t...

Floods (inondations Part III and last

Floods (inundations) 2005 Part III and end. As I recall, I broke off to have a nice Sunday lunch! Back to the floods, and start off by paying the compliment that France Meteo had got it all very well taped for the events of Mon/Tuesday. On the Wednesday, I woke up to find the sun shining, as though nothing had happened. True, the radio told me that roads, airports, railways were still closed, schools etc as well, but that Meteo France were quite clear – back to normal from today! Only slight problem, according to them, on the horizon, was a little thunderstorm which seemed to be blocked over the Mediterranean, about 20kilometres from the “Grau de Roi” (a resort some 20km’s from my village) but this wasn’t expected to give any problems! I set off on my way to find out about replacement monitors for the PC (as I explained in part II. On my return home, I was surprised to find the kitchen full of water, and drips coming from the roof. Never mind, clean it up (the house is some 250 years ol...

Floods(inondations) 2005 part II

So we (me and the cat) were sitting in bed, listening to reports on the radio from the Herault, Montpellier area. No TV (except roof antenna stuff - which ignored completely everything that happened outside Paris) wondering what time the storm would arrive at our village! We didn't have to wait long. The cat informed me by leaping into her secret hideaway, just before the first lightning stroke, and the deluge commenced. The night was passed more in dozing than sleeping, but one gets used to everything with time, so it around 9am it took a particularly loud thunderclap to wake me. First thoughts - have I still got electricity? Yes, looks like it. Have I got any leaks after some 10 hours of non-stop deluge? No - doesn't seem to be the case (a wonder). Second thoughts - Shall I get up? Is it worth it? According to the Radio, all the roads are closed, motorways down to the minor roads, no trains, no buses, no taxis, no Helicopters - nothing! The local government is insisting that...

Floods (Inondations) 2005. PART I

Image
It all started with a ray of sunshine, which sank behind the chimney visible from my bedroom.Little did one think that after nearly 7 months of drought, constant sunshine and high temperatures, that was to be the last ray for almost 4, very fraught, days. The Monday had been a normal one, hot, sunny, all the shops closed (as on a normal Monday) and people were grilling and sitting outside, waiting the cooling down of the day's heat. The weather people had suggested a break in the weather, with thunderstorms, but it is September, and that is normal. Around 8pm, news started to filter through on the radio of a red alert for the area of the Herault, particularly Montpellier. This isn't unusual either, since that city is the capital of the region. Us poor little people outside are not generally informed of pending problems, rather in the same way that if something happens in the Paris region, it is considered a "national" catastrophy, and poops to the people in the Region...

Sunday pm - moules and frites!

Image
You must excuse me - my hand trembled!! Never mind if you didn't understand the title. Most of you know what is happening tomorrow! Apart from the facts that the English are going to lose the last cricket test match, and therefore the ashes (AGAIN), Portsmouth will lose again (but none of us care - do we chippie?) apparantly a lot of Belgium's National dish (which if you didn't know is mussels and chips - moules et frites) will be going down the hatch! Did you know that Belgium does not possess one mussel bank? It all comes from Holland, lucky old WB, but the following is Belgian! Bet you've never seen the cup they will all be running aroind the circuit to win - Thanks to your Marquis - here it is: AND IT'S REAL! TOUCH IT!!

Grand Prix- it's better by BIKE!

It is GP day, folks, and not to be outdone by the Tele, here is my contribution. Having had so much to do with charming Dutch ladies/girls, I couldn't resist this one, she is so obviously Dutch, I can tell by her "rosy cheeks": Much better than race-cars! Just to make sure you do take your eyes off this photo from time to time (maybe to watch the GP, here is a second and last photo: Enjoy your F1! Just very good friends!!
