I've got yet another problem with this issue...(2)....!

Image
After my little article (further down the page) explaining my basic problem with the "Shiinti" or "Rom's" in which I explained that, in my view there WERE unfair, if not discrimanatory, rules and laws in place, but at that time in FAVOUR of these Groups. I explained (or tried to) that if the people concerned were allowed to travel around Europe, and were allowed to have various Social rights following them, plus the right to install themselves, their families, their equipment, on specially arranged "sites", often free of charge - THEN WHY DIDN'T I HAVE THE SAME RIGHTS? Now, my second problem with the story, as the French say - "The Polémique" -  stems from the news, over the past weekend, "leaked" from political sources here in France, that - in fact - the President SARKOZY actually did present a "communiquée" at an impromptu French Cabinet sitting, in the town of Grenoble, following various social unrests and proble...

Security..? What's that...? Not only Facebook

Image
Strange title. Everyone knows what "Security" means. In the last few years, it has probably become the most "bandied about" word, some what on the basis that everyone knows how important it is - at home, on the streets, on the Internet, at work, EVERYWHERE. And...nobody is going to put the word "Security" in question - so often it passes without "Security Control"! But...what happens if the Security is unsecure? I recall some years ago receiving a gift of an "Anti-Virus Security Programme" for my PC - a kind gesture from someone concerned with my Security. How was I, or they, to know that the Security was insecure...? Do you run a Security control on your Anti Virus? No? Me neither, but in this case, I should have! Inside, all snug and warm - like a bug in the proverbial rug, was a "nasty" - just waiting to be woken! Well do as I did... put your crash helmet on and attack... Yes - in my AV programme itself! It took me ...

Just today, the European Institutions demanded that France stop the deportation of "Rom" people, on the basis that they are European citizens and as such have the right to "voyage" within ALL EC Countries free of control. I would normally agree with them, but as I have explained elsewhere, this does give certain problems. The fact is that free movement was conceived and planned for Europeans who wished to seek employment elsewhere, who were basically solvent, financially and who had some form of Health Insurance cover. It was even accepted that "Social" lodgings could, and would, be offered to such "travellers". The "Gens de Voyage - ie the "ROM's" do not want that, they prefer their caravans. Fine by me, and France is one of the few countries in Europe who actually have put special areas of camping for them, in place, complete with running water, toilets, electricity, and various other services. All I ask now, is that ...

Friends - he loves me, he loves me not..he loves me....

Image
Here are two people who will never be friends. No question of "kissing rings" - no question of tolerance, no question of "you did a good job"....   Protestant - and I'm staying that way, anti-Papist, and anything remotely dealing with Catholicism.   Catholic - and I'm staying that way, Protestant is a way of living that is insupportable. And yet, as I understand it, they both believe in the same thing, or at least they say they do. They both read the same book, or at least they say they do..... And - that book is not this one:   They probably DO have one common friend in fact, and all of us are now being invaded by images and press conferences of their mutual friend - a little American "pastor" (i.e. A leader and protector of sheep or mutton) who proposes, out of probably National fervance and pride, to burn as many copies of the "unwanted" book as possible. Tolerance at its highest point, using "democratic" rights. I recall...

wiseGEEK: What Are Corn Futures?

What Are Corn Futures? Futures markets are markets that deal with the promise to either buy or sell a set commodity at a set price at some point in the future. They originated as a way for producers to protect themselves somewhat against price fluctuations based on external forces, such as the demand for corn in the marketplace. The earliest modern futures market was created in Osaka, Japan, as a way of selling futures... http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-corn-futures.htm?m You have received this email because you have subscribed to the "wiseGEEK: Learn Something New Every Day" list. Modern....Course I am....!

Now - look.... I may be an old fogey, as the lined-up queue of young ladies in front of my main door witness, but.....I inform myself - in particular on what those young things are getting up to! I mean - they know the basics, I know the "advanced" techniques.....! Normal - I'm a Marquis! Doesn't stop me from finding out - from a band of cronies........ (With many thanks to the young - and old in Brittany - and to "Urban Dictionary" who allow us to participate, if we want to, in their mystifying world) Won't stop me from being critical of their lack of expression in normal language - I'm afraid, but thanks all the same, at least I can start trying to understand what they're on about.....! Besides, (and I'll let you into a secret) as an old man, you can "allow - permit" yourself certain things, for which you would normally end up in gaol/jail! "WTF"......"LMAO".... "LOL"..... "ANDALLTHEOTHERS...
